Is your child acting out? Are you concerned about their emotional well-being? Has your child or teen experienced a trauma that is impacting their current functioning? Are you feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or helpless in dealing with your child’s behaviors or emotional needs? Are you the parent of a teen who is anxious, depressed, or distressed? Has your teen exhibited behaviors that cause you to worry about their academic success, social life, or safety in general?

There is a solution and therapy can help!

I can support you and your child or adolescent to develop self-efficacy & self-esteem, cope with life stressors and traumatic experiences, learn to manage and express their emotions in a healthy and productive way, improve social & relational skills and familial relationships, and increase their and your ability to manage their behaviors.

As a therapist I aim to create a warm, authentic, and non-judgmental relationship with the children, adolescents and families that I work with. I have a passion for and over 15 years of experience supporting young children in their social and emotional development. I took every child therapy and trauma class that was offered in my graduate program at Columbia University and majored in early childhood development and psychology in my undergraduate studies.

With Children, I frequently utilize play to support children in processing what is troubling them, expressing their thoughts and feelings, and learning healthy behavioral, emotional, and social skills. I believe in the healing power of therapeutic play as play is the primary language of children.

I also have experience working with adolescents struggling with a wide variety of issues including anxiety and depression, trauma, family conflict, low self-esteem, self-harm behaviors, suicidal ideation, extreme emotional distress and struggles with authority figures.

I use a variety of modalities in session including play therapy, psycho-dynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness, attachment theory, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), family systems theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), ecological systems theory, and Motivational Interviewing. I work with each person or family to find a treatment that will best fits their needs and individual goals for the work.
